KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Gun sales have recently shot through the roof and now a local store selling a lot of guns is doing their part to encourage safety.
Ranch & Home in Kennewick is offering free gun classes aimed at making the community a safe and informed area.
The store has seen huge increase in gun sales at this counter, which encouraged the store to decide offering free gun safety classes would be a good idea.
They feel it's important to do their part in keeping the community safe by promoting informed gun ownership.
At the Kennewick Ranch & Home, gun sales are up, way up. Sales spiked from 20 guns sold a day to 200 guns sold a day in that store alone.
Employees say recent gun violence and government talk about stronger gun control laws likely prompted the increase.
"It was right after the Connecticut shooting when Obama made his speech. I didn't watch it but when he made his speech that's when it just slowly started coming in and then it was overwhelming," said Darwin Ridley, a manager at Ranch & Home.
